This was by far the biggest turnout I’ve seen of pro-democracy demonstrators outside the embassy of the “Islamic Republic of Iran”. Some European faces could be seen in the crowd, but relatively few. And as usual I was there on my own. None of my friends and acquaintances (real rather than virtual) appreciate what’s going on in Iran, and the significance of current events in that country.

    Yes, it was a big crowd compared to other times. I had to leave a little after seven to get back to the kids, but most people seemed ready to settle in for the night! And a number of people had brought their children with them.

    Maybe next time we should arrange to meet.
