In a print edition editorial accompanying a report on observations of Chinese fruit bats partial to a bit of fellatio, New Scientist magazine remarks:
“Although the tactic appears to have the effect of prolonging mating, it isn’t known what the bats gain from it.”
Really? Surely we have a working hypothesis, at the very least.
