Off with his head!

Sir Thomas More, Speaker of the Parliament - beheaded in 1535 Michael Martin, Speaker of the Parliament - defenestrated in 2009 (?)

Everyone loves a scapegoat, so Michael Martin should be thankful. He may like his predecessor Thomas More be canonised following a show trial and execution designed to divert public attention from dark goings-on at the heart of a criminal state.

“Saint Michael of the Gorbals” has such a nice ring to it, don’t you think?

I think ‘silly old bugger’ has a better ring to it.

BTW that Holbein portrait manages to look gorgeous even when on screen and tiny. Now that’s propaganda for you. Who could do that nowadays for one of our politicos?

“I think ’silly old bugger’ has a better ring to it.”

    How about “intensely irritating fecker”?

Lovely sound to it. But I’m not sure he’s capable of doing anything ‘intensely’, even being an ‘irritating fecker’. He looks old, knackered and confused. Deserving of a nice cup of tea and a biscuit.

News about this Michael Martin actually reached Romanian Radio this morning, which usually devotes it’s primetime am slot to information about chickens and traffic accidents! (Was he fired, or something?)

Martin was offered as a blood sacrifice to appease the god Demos.
