The lengths some people will go to flog their memoirs. Cherie Blair is publicising her sordid tales of life in England’s ruling class by giving exclusive interviews to The Times saying that hubby continues to pull the strings in Downing Street, and is advising Gordon Brown on how to do his job and win the next election.

Ho ho, very funny. That’s a lost cause, as we all know. Gordon hasn’t a clue how to do his job, and probably wouldn’t enjoy it any more if he did. But these latest revelations from the former first lady display all the signs of being bullshit with bells on.

Still, the Blairs will no doubt earn a few bob during the book’s sojourn on the shelves of Books R Us and the like. This will help pay the mortgages on property bought at the peak of the housing market: a market created in large part by Gordon Brown. Is that irony delicious or what?
